Eight pintxos, four drinks, three hours. The operator states it covers a full meal. Available as a private departure on the same route.
Local Experts’ pintxo tasting paired with wines — $121, 4.8 from 750 guests. The most-reviewed pintxos tour in the city. Eight pintxos and five drinks — three wines from different Spanish Denominations of Origin, a Basque cider and a local liqueur — with the pairing as the organising idea rather than the route. Gluten free and vegetarian options are stated as available; vegans are not accommodated.
Take the first if you want a route you can repeat; the second if you care about the wine.
Then the specialists
Highest rated, and the only one with a market: the Premium Market, Pintxos and Wine Tasting Tour ($168, 5.0 from 132). Opens at the Bretxa market with a ham tasting and an olive and oil merchant the operator places among the world’s top four, then four Old Town bars for six pintxos and five pours. The catch: the market is closed at weekends and on Monday afternoons, and those departures substitute an extra pintxo. Book a weekday.
Most food, least crush: Like a Local: Evening Pintxos Tour ($115, 4.8 from 93). Nine tastings — the highest count on this site — and four drinks in 2.5 hours, working San Martín market and the Romantic Area rather than the tourist stretch. Includes the bar where the gilda was created, and cider you pour yourself.
Smallest and seated: Beyond Pintxos ($116, 5.0 from 16). Ten guests maximum, sits down at all five stops, six tastings and four pours across Gros and the Old Town, and it is the one listing that states plainly that vegetarian and gluten-free guests are well accommodated.
Cheapest by a distance: the walking tour with pintxo and drink ($17, 4.5 from 301). Be clear about what this is: a genuinely good 1.5–2 hour guided history walk of the city that finishes with one pintxo and one glass — and only if you choose the small-group option at booking. It is not a food tour and does not pretend to be.
The day out: Traditional Cider House Tour with Lunch ($96, 4.9 from 166). Four hours, transport included, out into the Gipuzkoa hills for the orchards, the fermentation hall and a long shared table. A complement to a pintxos tour, not a substitute.
Now pick by who you are
Two people, one evening, no constraints. Devour’s Ultimate Pintxos & Wine Tour, evening slot, night one. Do not go private — you are paying about $90 a head extra for exclusivity you did not need, and the shared table is part of the appeal.
A couple who care about wine. The pintxo tasting paired with wines, for the five pours and the Denominación structure.

Second or third night in the city. The cider house, or a txakoli winery on the coast. Both get you out of the Old Town and neither competes with the evening.
